Exodus 10
At this point, even Pharaoh's servants are trying to get him to see the damage caused by his stubborn refusal. But he's reached the point where reasoning with him seems futile. His heart is set in stone. What a horrible position to be in - so set on a path of destruction that no amount of begging, or reasoning, or teaching can divert us.
We've seen that before, too, haven't we? In our own lives or in the lives of those we love. We see folks who've set their mind on a path of destruction, oblivious to all the warning signs that scream, "Stop! Turn around!" It pictures those signs on the highway, "WRONG WAY." Yet some folks still blow by those signs straight into oncoming traffic.
One of the reasons God calls us to live In community with other believers Is so we might be that warning sign to one another. When we see a brother or sister tiptoeing into areas of temptation, God calls us to urge them back to safety. We are called to hold one another accountable to living holy lives, not by harsh judgment, but by loving encouragement, exhortation, and example.
Praying this week for a heart that remains soft and receptive to God's leading.
